Creality Ender 3 Pro vs Ender 5

  • by

3D Printers is indeed a hot topic nowadays. Although this technology has been around since decades ago, from time to time the evolution and enhancement to this machine is more than our imagination. People keep looking for new innovations to deliver for 3D Printers. It saves time to create 3D objects and efficiently deliver very thorough, detailed, and good quality products. So, no wonder it has become a hot topic.

For you who are not aware yet of what 3D Printers can give you. Basically 3D Printers operate to create 3D objects with machines by processing a 3D sketch or design. The source of design can be made through a few tools which are 3D scanner, application, haptic device, code, or even through 3D modeling software. Similar to the 2D concept of design. You processed the design also through a few tools or applications then printed it out through the machine. It works that way too. The difference is only in the process and output. Just like the quality of 2D output or result, 3D Printers also deliver different types of quality with different types of composition.

Just like 2D printers, 3D Printers also have different type, which are, SLA (Stereolithography), SLS (Selective Laser Sintering), FDM (Fused Deposition Modeling), DLP (Digital Light Process), MJF (Multi Jet Fusion), PolyJet, DMLS (Direct Metal Laser Sintering), and the last one is EBM (Electron Beam Melting). They work differently with different outputs.

3D Printers are used by quite many industries over the years. Such as automotive, aviation, and even consumer products. As you might know, movie props are also using 3D Printers sometimes as they find it to be more efficient and less cost. Creality is one of so many 3D Printers products out there which we can take a look at. Let’s compare Creality Ender 3 Pro with Ender 5.

Take a deep look on Creality Ender 3 Pro

Creality offers different types of 3D Printers. It is divided into 2 series, Ender and CR series. We are not going to talk much about CR in this session. For Ender itself, It’s divided again by a few series. Ender 3 and 5. For Ender 3, we have Ender 3 Pro, just Ender 3, and Ender 3 V2. Meanwhile in Ender 5, we have Ender 5 Pro, Ender 5 Plus, and just Ender 5. Read also: Ender 5 Pro vs CR10S.

There are a lot of features coming from Ender 3 Pro. We’re just going to dig into the main features. First, Ender 3 Pro is a new version of the previous series. It’s upgraded from Ender 3 with Meanwell Power supply, new platform sticker, and redesign of the previous aluminium extrusion which makes it more stable, durable, and comfortable to operate.

The Meanwell Power Supply gives a lot of advantages to the Ender 3 Pro. It covers all the problems related to fast heating and long-time printings. Somehow, in some way, users need to print a very complicated design which then will take more time than usual. It sometimes causes overheating and that is what we are not going to expect from this Ender 3 Pro.

Also that particular feature can protect the Ender 3 Pro machine from voltage spikes and power outages. So whenever the power is off, you can always resume your work without worrying that It might destroy your design. It works completely well just like nothing ever happened.

The next feature is a superior printing surface, the C-MAG magnetic sticker coming to make it more easy to remove, flexible and better adhere to the platform. Ender 3 Pro also enriches accessories which come directly in the package. You can use it whenever you need without additional cost.

So here is, more into the features you might want to note from Ender 3 Pro. Enhance printing stability, DIY assembles, heating up with only five minutes, print with high precision, and easier to level.

Take a deep look on Creality Ender 5

While we’re talking about creality Ender 3 Pro, Ender 5 would be the best products out of Creality which we can compare with Ender 3 Pro. Ender 5 have pretty similar main features with Ender 3 Pro with additional features such as brand power supply, integrated motherboard power, and industrial circuit board.

It is also equipped with partial assembly and simple installation to new kits which will be very useful to the user. The brand power supply makes it heat to 110℃ in 5 minutes. Also in terms of design, this Ender 5 is very simple and large because It’s resulted from combination of other regional products. One more important thing is that the reviews of most of the consumers are very good and positive.

Creality Ender 3 Pro vs Ender 5

- REMOVABLE BUILD SURFACE PLATE: Provide all-round protection to your 3D printer build plate and ensure consistent temperature throughout the build surface. Easy to remove the printing models after cooling.
- SAFE POWER SUPPLY: Ender 3 Pro comes with a UL Certified power supply, protecting your printer from unexpected power surges, that can heat the hot bed to 110℃ in just 5 minutes.
- RESUME PRINT FUNCTION: Ender 3 Pro can resume printing from the last recorded extruder position after suffering unexpected power outages.
- SEMI-ASSEMBLED KIT: This easy-to-setup kit comes partially assembled, allowing you to learn about the basic construction of 3D printers as you finish putting it together. A fun STEM educational experience in mechanical engineering and electronics.
- Upgraded Silent Mainboard V4.2.2: Ender 5 Pro 3d printer comes with upgraded V4.2.2 silent Mainboard with TMC2208 drivers, allowing for quieter and more precise printing performance.
- Metal Extruder Kit: Ender 5 Pro adopts Creality metal extruder which has better stronger pressure to pushing filament into printer nozzle, improving the printer's performance.
- Capricorn Premium XS Bowden Tubing: Imported Capricorn blue tube with high temperature resistant makes feeding smoother and ensure great printing texture.
- Brand Power Supply: Built-in brand power supply, heat up the hot bed to 110℃ in 5 minutes.

What 3D Printers from Creality are best for you?

We have compared most of the features together. Although Ender 5 is coming after Ender 3 Pro, we do not see a particular and significant difference between the two. Although some parts are enhanced and completes the previous minus point of Ender 3 Pro. The functions are still pretty much the same. Now let’s see the price. Ender 3 Pro costs you about USD $209.00 or 3,200,000 IDR while Ender 5 costs you about USD $319.00 or almost 5 million IDR. The difference between these two is quite significant. It’s being affected mostly by the integrated motherboard and partial assembly as It might give more benefit to the system.

But still Ender 3 Pro is more qualified and better because with that pretty similar feature, It costs half of the Ender 5. Plus it also gets good and positive reviews from users. Unless you have more budget, Ender 3 Pro is a good one to go with.
